The fact that someone sees the need for a book like Wait! Don't Move to Canada: A Stay-And-Fight Strategy to Win Back America says a lot about the apathy that permeates our society. It's important to note that the apathy is not uniformly spread throughout our culture and society.
There is no shortage of letters to fill the editorial pages of our newspapers. Many places have to limit the length of citizens are allowed to spend addressing city councils. If you want your views to be heard you need to take action. It's not enough to sit back and wait for the "political types" who share your views to do the heavy lifting.
I don't know about my fellow party members (that sounds so Communist. What I mean is that I'm speaking from across the aisle, even though I'm not sure people on my side of the aisle actually agree with anything I think), but I think the Democrats would be safest with Obama.
But maybe that's just me.
You may be right about Obama, I think it's too early to really day about that. But I am positive Hillary is the Democrat's best opportunity to lose again.
You're absolutely right. If Clinton gets the nod (and it's looking like everything's getting lined up just for that) the Dems don't stand a chance.
I do believe that many Dems will hold their noses and vote for her anyway (don't want to "throw away" that vote), but the independents and fence-sitters aren't going to have it. The only way she could possibly stand a chance is if the Republicans had a candidate that is anything like Bush. They've got a lot of, well, war mongering fools (for lack of a better term) on their ticket, but the challenger would have to be really OUT there for Clinton to stand a chance.
If she gets on the ticket, I'm afraid at least 4 more years of exactly what we're getting.
Came via BC, by the way. Great topic.
I'm not allied or claim to be with any party. I am more for what will help everyone as a whole even if it doesn't help me right now, it could help my children and grand children.
there will always be someone with more time and resources than I have to toss at a problem. time and resources is related to the number of people working for a company or person and the dollar amount fixed to that time.
Some of the problems I see with some of the people that get caught up in lobbing for things is that they get very narrow minded. Their focus is on one thing, and they forget bout the rest of the world and the impact that it could have on it.
Based on the comments about Obama, he will not even wear a flag pin, it is clear that you would believe what ever he says. HE WILL NOT WEAR THE COUNTRIES FLAG! does that not sound bad to people. He is not even proud of the country that he was born in. That sends a clear message to me that he doesn't even deserve the notion of being our president.
Scratch that. I just did a little more reading up on the pin thing that I heard about the day it happened, bad me for not following up on that, but it would appear that he would rather show though actions than though symbolism. That i can stand up and applaud for.
I'm going to shutup now before I make a bigger fool of myself.
